The first step to planning any therapy session is always each child's individual motivations. Activities could be based on your child's favourite sports team, animal or cartoon character. Over the years I've had lots of fun learning about all sorts of things...Star Wars, Peppa Pig, Minecraft, Hello Kitty, rugby, dinosaurs and One Direction to name but a few! I always use Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), combining the latest research evidence with my own clinical knowledge and experience. 

Therapy sessions are usually carried out once or twice per week, but I am happy to discuss any frequency of input, to suit your individual needs. 

Treatment aims will be discussed and agreed with parents and nursery/school staff as appropriate. If your child is already seen by an NHS speech and language therapist, I will endeavour to work with them to make sure that our targets are compatible. I am happy to provide input while you are waiting for NHS input to start and am always happy to work with my colleagues in the NHS to make sure of a smooth transition between services.

Therapy can be carried out at home, school, nursery, after-school club, or wherever works best for you.
