I am a specialist speech and language therapist, covering Banbury and the surrounding villages. I work with children in their homes, nurseries and schools. I also offer training to parents and educational staff. I strive to support families in functional, practical ways, led by the needs and wishes of the young person and their wider network of family and friends.
I work with young people from pre-school age to early adulthood. I specialise in speech sound impairments, and also work with learning disability, AAC, signing, pre-verbal communication, autism spectrum conditions, and language disorders.
I love to talk (it's my job!), so please get in touch for an informal chat.
I qualified as a speech and language therapist in 2008 with a 1st class BSc honours degree from the University of Reading.
In 2014, I completed an MSc at the University of Sheffield in my specialist area, children's speech sound difficulties.
I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
I worked for the NHS in Oxfordshire for five years. I worked across a wide range of settings, including special schools, mainstream schools, language units and autism bases.
Since 2012, I have been running Vanessa Rogers Speech and Language Therapy, both in Oxfordshire, and South West London (please note, I am currently only working in the North Oxfordshire area). I enjoy the challenge of running my own business and love being able to offer a service which is individually tailored to every family I work with.
Alongside my therapy work, I also work part time as a Research and Development Officer at the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
